315 persons in Goa figure on the police list of "known goondas". The list includes the son of a minister and some suspected aides of key politicians and was published in Goa on 10 Aug. See: http://www.goacom.com/news/news2000/aug/msg00043.html

The list of Goondas included Aires Rodrigues who recently emigrated to Goa from UK! He threatened to sue the Police, who are apparently being manipulated by the Politicians he had accused of corruption. The Police have evidently apologised to him and removed his name from the list. Goanet has been ringing all week with messages supporting Aires!

The State public bus services have been extended from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm on the major intra-state routes in Goa.
