From Candy Fernandes: I am pleased to inform you that The Goan Community Association (North London) have now obtained our very own Portakabin which arrived on the 11th of Nov. Our new address is Goan Community Centre, Portakabin, Keston Centre Car Park, Keston Rd., N17 6PW. I'd like to mention at this point that the centre is open to all Goans across the UK, it has only been set up by the GCA but everyone will be welcome. We will celebrate our achievements on 18th Nov. with Mass at 7pm followed by suggestions for development. Religious opening on 2nd Dec.7pm Mass. Mayor's opening 10th Dec.1pm. Entrance by raffle. Meherchand Harijan (22), arrested for kidnapping/eloping with a minor girl, was crushed to death in front of the girl, her parents and police, at the Margao Railway station. Attempting to escape (?) or commit suicide (?), Meherchand broke loose from the cops escorting him, jumped on the tracks and got crushed under a train.

Domino’s Pizza has set up "outlandishly decorated outlets" at Calangute, Panjim and Margao.

An Antiques Gallery or rare furniture and household items has been opened in Khobravaddo, Calangute.

The first "official" rave party of the current tourist season was held at Ozran, Anjuna, on last Saturday (6 p.m. to 6 a.m.)
