The Aberdeen Press and Journal of June 5 2001 carries a 698-word article, headlined Ethnic Families Tell Of Harassment. Philomena de Lima was the Principal Researcher of the study. Click here... The Study was funded by the Commission for Racial Equality (CRE) and published jointly by the CRE and Community Development Foundation. Dark Star Disco has started a fund-raising campaign to raise £10,000 for the BBC Comic Relief's life saving projects in Africa and Asia. Funds will be raised by Dark Star, providing its unique blend of music at various functions from now until the next Comic Relief event in 2003. Mr N Suryanarayana, chief officer of the Panaji Municipal Council is the new Director of Tourism.

A move to make it compulsory for NRIs to report to the police, could have wide ramifications for a place like Goa, which has a huge expat population. Following the opposition to the move, the Indian Government is likely to reconsider its plans.

Gabriel Rozario, 41, who owns an Indian restaurant in Inverness, was fined £400 after admitting breach of the peace by brandishing a meat cleaver to threaten two men who racially abused him. Rozario had lived in London from 1992 and had faced two racial attacks since moving to Inverness in 1997. 534 words
