GOA DAY IN PORTUGAL. 10 Aug. Toronto Star. In 1988, Joanna De Souza, 46 and Ritesh Das founded the M-DO (Multicultural Dance Organization) Centre…She calls the centre the seed of realizing a dream …It started with a visit to her friends in San Francisco in 1977 that was supposed to last a week… In 1988 she and Ritesh took posts at the University of Toronto and conceptualized M-DO, a centre for world music and dance…Eventually, De Souza hopes to set up a full-time institution with hired staff. She says, "This is the seed of the future, a sustained centre for world arts. I hope it will become a legacy of being inspired by the possibilities." 1169 words Click here.....

11 Aug. Montreal Gazette. Clarification: In last week's Milestones, it was reported that the Quebec Goan Association celebrated its silver jubilee on July 17. While the association was founded 25 years ago last July 17, the celebration will take place Oct. 12 with a dinner and dance at the St. James Club. The association has more than 300 members.

15 Aug. Toronto Star. Photograph of Natalie DeSouza who has profited from a night school commitment. She is a psychology graduate from McMaster and was working as a training co-ordinator at Nestle Canada. She gave up her Saturdays for five months ("Wasn't hard at all," she says) to complete the Certified Internet Webmaster program at the Institute for Computer Studies. Now she's an e-Business applications analyst at Nestle, with a leap in salary…
