COMMUNITY NEWS

Edgar Fernandes’ murder – new development. Edgar (ex-Kenya, Goa and Leicester) was a London librarian who went to Turkey for a holiday in April 1998 and failed to return. His family was forced to mount their own investigation in Turkey and they discovered his body in a morgue there. He had apparently been murdered for his British passport. The family located the chief suspect in Malta and succeeded in getting the police there to arrest him. The suspect was extradited to Turkey after considerable pressure and is currently on trial.
