Anya lives in London and is the daughter of the late FN Souza, Goa’s foremost artist. For another photograph and the supplement that has been created which brings together this and some other articles about this, most extraordinary woman, click here.

Leicester Mercury announced on 18 Oct. that Keyham Lane West School had decided to honour the late Merlyn Vaz by naming the new £1 million sports hall after her. It was officially unveiled by Lord Falconer of Thoroton. 1. Cause for the Beatification of Ven Fr Agnelo – 4th October
A seminar, with the above theme, was held at the Goan Community Centre in North London. It was hosted by the Friends of Ven Fr Agnelo and chaired by Deacon Braz Menezes with 36 delegates in attendance, four of whom had come all the way from Paris (representing Les Amis du Pere Agnelo).

2. Senior Citizens Lunch - Sunday 5th October
This annual event organised by the Goan Association UK, catered for over 100 of our senior citizens at the ATC hall in South Wimbledon. Those who attended enjoyed a three course meal with entertainment provided by Nite Life and the Goan Cultural Society. Because of the size of the venue, numbers had to be restricted and we are on the lookout for a larger hall for next year.

Donations received.  £20 each: Celia Mascarenhas; Felicia Kemp. £500: Goan Association (UK).
