G.O.A. (UK) May Ball cum Anniversary Dance 30th May 2004

The Bank holiday was made more enjoyable with the delights of the May Ball on Sunday evening, at the Lola Jones Hall in Tooting. (London). The black & white formal dress theme enhanced the function, as did the effectively decorated tables. A crowd of almost 300 danced the night away to the ever popular Maz & Co. in conjunction with Fantasy Disco. The main event of the night was the crowning of a May Queen and King, a title that attracted about 50 young contenders. Beautifully dressed girls and well groomed lads introduced themselves individually and were impressive in conversation as well as dance. A hard choice, for the judges, resulted in the President and his wife (Flavio & Bernie Gracias) crowning Charmaine Fernandes from Coulsdon (Surrey) and Shane Correia from Clapham Common (London) as G.O.A.(UK) May Queen and King 2004. Congratulations to Charmaine and Shane and well done to all the participants.

This was a Norma Menezes- Rahim production, with thanks to all the usual band of dedicated helpers and Committee, Tony & Susie Caterers and Greg Carvalho and his bar team.
