During my very recent visit, in September 2004 to Kampala, Uganda, I was introduced to the current Parish Priest, of Christ The King Church, Msgr. Paul Ssemogerere by a resident Goan, Mr. Romano Fernandes and a regular goanet, subscriber and the Co-ordinator of the Uganda Goans, World Goa Day, in Kampala, Mr. Vivek Araujo.

The Parish Priest had a long discussion with me about Ugandan Goan Association with CHRIST THE KING CHURCH, from its inception to the present. Christ The King Church, will be celebrating its 75th Anniversary, next year, in November 2005. Due to the Goan Communities very long Association with this Church, the Parish Priest would like, some of our Ex Ugandan Seniors, to get together and do an article, of The Goan Association with Church Of Christ The King, along with photos
of events, taken out on the steps, in Front of the Church, for Christenings, First Holy Communions, Confirmations, Weddings and maybe even of Funerals. |Very old plus more modern photographs and any other memorabilia, that might be obtained from ex Ugandan Goan Parishioners, which he would like to include, in the 75th Anniversary Booklet about the Parish that, the Parish will be printing.

I am sure there will be many, who can give a brief about their Association, like in my case, though I was born in Goa, I took my first Holy Communion and Confirmation at Church Of Christ the King. All my sisters and brothers, who were born in and around Kampala, were baptised and confirmed at The Church Of Christ The King.

Secondly The Parish Priest has also requested help and assistance from Ex Ugandan Goan Parishioners, to assist the Parish in carrying out various Social Projects, that the Parish is involved and will be involved, in the future. Any contributions, however small, will be very gratefully accepted by the Parish.
