Indian visas
12 Oct: Travel Trade Gazette UK. From Stephanie Cockerill travel adviser, Instant Holidays (United Co-op Group): Owing to the change in Indian visa applications in the past month clients can no longer apply by post for the six-month tourist visa. I have clients on the Isle of Man who had documents returned with no visa and postal orders payable to the High Commission of India, and clients who have queued at the Consulate General of India, Birmingham, from 6am. As they issue only 50 per day this was a fruitless exercise, and very fraught with the police being called … I expect sales for Indian holiday destinations to drop significantly as the ability to obtain a visa will now be too time-consuming for most. My question to the High Commission of India: why?
