Francine Fernandes: Empower ethnic women

Francine Fernandes, 34, was born in Nairobi, the daughter of Yvonne and Oliver; sister of Oliver. One of her projects won the 2008 Channel 4 Political Award and she is a Strategic Advisor to the Harriet Harman's BAME Women Taskforce.

UK: Rufino and Lira Cordeiro: Golden Wedding Anniversary

6 Sep. 2009. Congratulations to Rufino and Lira Cordeiro (Saligao, Goa), parents of Lucinda, MaryAnne and Francesca. They were married on 6th September 1959 at the St Teresa's Church, Eastleigh, Nairobi, Kenya with the reception at the Goan Gymkhana, Parklands Nairobi and later flying to Europe for an 8 month honeymoon and tour of European cities. The Golden Wedding Anniversary High Mass was at the St Edward the Confessor Church, Windsor, Berks on 6th September 2009. The celebration party was at Asia House, New Cavendish Street, London, hosted by MaryAnne Cordeiro who is Patron of Asia House. You may wish to congratulate them by writing to rufino@talktalk.net
