The media has been relatively silent as opposed to the Louise Woodward case. PR guru Max Clifford forthrightly says: "She's Asian. Simple as that" Basuta, 44, was born in Mombasa. Died suddenly. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 on Friday 13th August, at St. Bartholomew's Church, 159 Ellison Road, Streatham, London SW16. Burial at Croydon Cemetery and Crematorium, Thornton Road, Thornton Heath, Surrey.

The Goa Rajiv Congress, headed by former Chief Minister Willy D'Souza, has merged with the Nationalist Congress Party led by Sharad Pawar (the Sonia Gandhi opponent).

Derisive laughter greeted Goa's Tourism Minister Churchill Alemao after he told the Assembly." I do not want to be punished from the Almighty if I fail to fulfil my assurance given to the House".

The Goa government will give more importance to computerise all the land records in the state, announced Chief Minister Luizinho Faleiro.
