DONATIONS APPEAL

I am very disappointed by the reaction so far and might be myself to blame for the confusion. I had launched an appeal to help to maintain and improve the service. The response was poor so I decided to solicit donations only to maintain the existing service. I am not seeking compensations for my own costs and expenses but help with transferring the mailing list to more efficient software and compensation for Joel D'Souza in Goa who provides us with news from Goa.

I therefore appeal to all UK residents to contribute. Please make your cheques (UK Pounds 10, suggested) payable to E. Fernandes and post it to me at 1 Onslow Gardens, London N10 3JT. Some of you have already done so and two stalwarts have donated UKP 30 each.

One change to the accounting procedure. Many have failed to give their e-mail addresses so I will have to acknowledge all contributions in a message in this newsletter rather than in a circular only to the donors.

Apologies again for the confusion. Call me at 020-8883 4786 (eve. and w.e.) if you need more information.

A limited number of copies of the International Goan Directory are expected to arrive next week from Canada. The UKP 5 cost quoted last week was the Cash & Carry price at the Festival. The mail order price is UKP 8 and the first 30 orders will get their copies by the end of next week. There will be a delay of a few weeks before the rest of the orders are met.
