In a unique scheme in the country, persons of 58 years of age and above would be entitled for Rs.500 per month. The scheme is meant to provide financial security to those neglected by their children.

BRITISHER BOOKED Milton Hugo Wiggs (55), who was staying at in Velim was booked for knocking down another British national, Tony Don, at Navelim while driving a Tata Sumo. Milton informed police that he had been coming to Goa Frequently since 1987 and was enjoying himself by fishing. He was also on the lookout to buy property in Goa, but was once cheated.
