DONATIONS

I have previously appealed for donations to enable Goanet-UK to use some news databases and also to engage someone in Goa to maintain and enhance this list. The amount pledged fell very far short of the target. I am therefore planning to approach the Goan Association (UK) for monetary help with the news databases. There has been widespread support for a stipend for Joel who sends us news from Goa, courtesy of GoaCom. We also need to change the list software to one, which will provide automated facilities and reduce the maintenance time I have to spend.

In view of the change in focus, those who have pledged donations are under no obligation to contribute. However, those who do wish to donate towards Joel and the implementation of the new software may do so. Post your cheques, made payable to E. Fernandes, to me at 1 Onslow Gardens, London N10 3JT or you may prefer to hand it at the Goanet-UK stall at the UK Goan Festival on 29 July.

All contributions will be acknowledged in a separate circular, which will be sent only to the Donors. The Goanet-UK website will be developed on less ambitious lines than I had previously indicated. Watch this space!
