6 Jun. Leicester Mercury. The Braunstone Carnival is being held on July 6. This year, organisers are hoping to fill Braunstone Park with a parade of floats, a fun-fair, side-shows and music and dance performances by people from the estate. Francine Fernandes, of the carnival team, said: "Everything is going really well and we're all very excited because the community is really getting involved.”

Kamlesh Bahl, who was forced out as vice president of the Law Society two years ago is staging a comeback and is contesting a seat on the council reserved for ethnic minority solicitors.
