31/01/2020 - 31/1/2020 - Funeral: Guilu (Guilherme) Pires. Ex Dar Es Salaam, Batim, Goa, and Nairobi

31 Dec. 2019: Brighton, England. GUILU (GUILHERME) JOÃO PIRES. Born 22 June 1931 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. Son of the late Lourenço Cristovão Pires and the late Maria Anunciação Guadalupe Pires. Devoted father of Vanessa (deceased), brother of Leo, Luis (deceased), Victoria, Curcino (deceased) and Garcinha (deceased), and brother-in-law of Theresa, Lena and Lynette. Resident of Portslade, Brighton, England. Guilu passed away peacefully at the Royal Sussex County Hospital, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his wife Diana, his daughter Charlotte and son Glyn, and their families. No flowers by request; donations in memory of Guilu preferred, either to Mary's Meals ( or the National Foundation for Youth Music (
Requiem Mass will be held at St Theresa's RC Church, Lower Drive, Southwick, West Sussex, BN42 4RB on Friday 31 January at 11:00 AM. The Committal Service will then take place at 12:30 PM at the South Chapel, Woodvale Crematorium, Lewes Road, Brighton, BN2 3QB, to which everyone is invited. A reception will follow at Brighton & Hove Golf Club, Devil's Dyke Road, Brighton, BN1 8YJ. For condolences and catering purposes RSVP by Friday 24th January to Diana Pires
