Alexandra Maeja Raicar: Child-Centred Attachment Therapy


Maeja (formerly known as Alexandra Menezes) and three social work colleagues developed and piloted an attachment therapy programme (CcAT) for children and families. The book, Child-Centred Attachment Therapy, describes their learning and has recently been published by Karnac Books in London… Sir Richard Bowlby writes: "Maeja Raicar and colleagues bring a clarity and freshness to working with very troubled children in foster or adoptive families."
Alexandra was born in Nairobi and is the sister of the late Frank Menezes (London), Tony Menezes (Norway), Melita Figueiredo (London) and Angela Menezes (Goa). For details about the book, click here.

UK: Jo De Souza's Dance Centre Opening Shortly


The DeSouza Dance Centre is set to open officially on 7 Sep. 2009 offering classes, after a free trial lesson, in Classical Ballet, Contemporary Dance, Drama, Indian Dance, Musical Theatre, Street Jazz, Tap Music, Movement and Mime, Pilates, Aerobics and Abdominal Workout.

26 Aug: London. CANUTE SIMOES (born 1930 in Assagao, Goa; ex-Ministry of Works, Nairobi/Mombasa). Died peacefully in Northwick Park Hospital, Harrow. Beloved husband of Helen. Dear brother of late Katie Simoes, late Olinda Nazareth and brother-in-law of Angelo Nazareth, Flavia and Peter Fernandez. Loving Uncle of Evelyn, Louise, Carmel, Andy, Debbie and Owen. Funeral Mass on Tuesday 8 September 2.00 pm at St Margaret Clitherow RC Church, Everglade Strand, Grahame Park, London NW9 5PX. Burial at Hendon Cemetery, Holders Hill Road, Mill Hill, London NW7 1NB.
Transport: Buses 204 or 303 (going to EDGWARE) from outside Colindale Station and get off after two stops at Quakers Course Bus-stop. Parishioners will guide mourners from this bus stop to the church. Then TWO coaches will be available to take mourners from the church to cemetery and then to the hall.
