16 Nov: CNN. British couple Paul and Rachel Chandler, released over the weekend after being held by pirates for more than a year, departed Kenya on Tuesday for the United Kingdom
The couple were sailing on their yacht from the Seychelles Islands to Tanzania in October 2009 when they were captured

15 Nov. Montreal, Canada. JEROME DE SOUZA (Aged 96: ex-Aldona, Goa and Kampala, Uganda). Beloved husband of the late Carmen De Souza. Devoted father to Gemma, Errol (Yvonne), Cecilia (Nagmeldin), Sheena (Carl), Peter (Huguette) and Nigel. Cherished grandfather to Warren, Marrisa, Nareman, our dearly departed Jasim, Nada, Sarah, Omer, Christopher, Liana, Bradley and Andrea. Forever missed by his nine great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brother Eusebio and sister Libby. Survived by brother Amarino and sisters Bassin and Vita. Visitation at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 Sources Blvd, Dollard des Ormeaux, Quebec on Friday November 19, from 2:00 to 5:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20 at St. Edward the Confessor, 98 Aurora Ave, Pointe-Claire, followed by internment at the Rideau Funeral Home. Sir Richard Branson has lost a pre-season bet with Lotus-Cosworth and Air Asia chief Tony Fernandes, so he's agreed to be an air stewardess as his forfeit. The wager was over which team would finish higher in the 2010 F1 championship, and because Branson's Virgin Racing came last and Lotus finished above them in 10th place, Branson will squeeze into a red stewardess’ uniform and serve drinks aboard Fernandes’ London-Kuala Lumpur service. Goa to host shopping and food festival 16 Nov. IIFL. In an attempt to replicate the Dubai shopping festival model, the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), which hosts IFFI, has partnered with the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) to create a mega shopping and food festival to be held between Nov 22 and Dec 2 coinciding with IFFI 2010. It will feature Jazz artists, jugglers, caricature artists, fire eaters, acrobats, food courts serving Goan delicacies and a grand shopping hunt! The two major towns of Goa - Panaji and Margao - will don a festive look and play host to the shopping and food festival. click here

Cops to target tourists smoking drugs 16 Nov. Times of India.Tourists sitting in shacks or strolling on the beach and blowing smoke rings of charas, ganja or tobacco had better beware. North Goa police have initiated a drive in the coastal belt and are booking persons smoking in public places in violation of the provisions of the Indian Tobacco Control Act, 2003, that aims at curbing smoking in public places in order to protect individuals from the hazards of second-hand tobacco smoke. click here
