UK: Vanessa D'Souza is on Come Dine With Me this week

9 Nov. (Wednesday). 17:30 to 18:00. Channel 4. Trainee solicitor Vanessa D'Souza hosts the third dinner party in Croydon, and aims to give her guests Michelin-star quality food. She is thrown when Robert Preston opts to have the steak for dinner, despite having previously claimed to be a vegetarian, and is forced to give up her own meal to accommodate him. Vanessa was born in London in 1986, the daughter of Mario & Elvina D'Souza, both born in Kitale, Kenya who came to London as young teens and married here. Vanessa is a former model, who is passionate about cooking. She won the Goan Association May Queen award in 2005. For details click here.

Dog bite cases hit the roof in 2011
8 Nov: Times of India. In 2011, every month, around 1,205 persons were treated for dog bites. This is the highest figure in the last four years. In comparison, there were 1,042 dog bite cases reported every month in 2010. This year, two rabies cases were reported in the state. And these figures do not include the number of dog bite cases reported at the Goa medical college and hospital, Bambolim, and private hospitals in the state…  click here
