Australia: Sarah Carneiro: Skating towards glory

Croydon: Tony Fernandes stabbed to death
29 July. Police were called to a house in Windmill Road, Selhurst, Croydon at 8.30pm yesterday and found Tony Fernandes with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to hospital but died at 11.50 pm. A 43-year-old man and a 25-year-old man have been arrested. It is believed that one is white and the other is black…Tony worked at Epsom College as lab technician assistant. A report suggests that he died died in an alcohol-fuelled fight … Just before the murder two men were spotted by locals shouting through the victim's letter box and banging on the door… Tony’s friend, Sheila Lockwood, said: "He was such a lovely and friendly guy and he would talk to anyone and always see the best in everyone… He lived alone but had lots of friends.” Fernandes was unmarried and had no children.
