Italy: Sabrina De Sousa denies being a CIA agent
23 Sep: The Daily Beast. Lt. Colonel Joseph Romano, Sabrina De Sousa and 24 others are currently being tried, in absentia, by a Milan Court of kidnapping Abu Omar, an Egyptian cleric. The Obama administration has asserted diplomatic immunity to Romano but not to De Sousa in spite of her application - for details, click here. The US Justice Department has, however granted De Sousa's request to pay her attorney fees. Her Washington lawyer, Mark Zaid says this decision raises more questions than it answers - for details click here.

At the hearing in Milan today, the judge rejected the US application for diplomatic immunity for Romano… Sabrina De Sousa's lawyer said that the case against his client relies on classified evidence … De Sousa says she was a foreign service officer in Milan and denies she worked for the CIA … 749 words.
